Getting started
Installation
For the public release, Microsoft Store is the recommended install path. It delivers the signed package, required runtime, and future updates through Windows.

Use the official Trayzen listing in Microsoft Store.
- 2Install the app
Windows validates the package and installs the required app runtime.
- 3Launch Trayzen
Choose the modules you want and keep the others disabled until you need them.
Getting started
First run
Trayzen is modular. Start with the workflows you already use, confirm their global shortcuts, and add the rest later from Settings.
Enable Quick Search, capture, preview, File Shelf, media, or system tools independently.
Trayzen shows active global shortcuts on Home and lets you change supported capture bindings.
Keep Trayzen available from the notification area or launch only when you need it.

Quick Search
A keyboard-first command center for the things already on your PC.
- Open desktop and packaged apps, visible windows, Windows settings, and trusted system tools.
- Find file names from Desktop, Documents, and Downloads without indexing file contents.
- Search local Chrome and Edge bookmarks, calculate expressions, or hand a query to your chosen web search engine.
- Narrow results instantly with @ for apps, # for files, and ? for the web.
PowerShell commands are an explicit opt-in and run only the exact command you type in a visible window.
Quick Preview
See a selected Explorer item without waiting for its full app to open.
- Press Space in File Explorer when exactly one supported item is selected.
- Preview images, animated media, audio, video, text, source code, PDF files, folders, archives, fonts, and shell thumbnails.
- Browse neighboring items with the keyboard and optionally keep a preview above other windows.
- Bounded text and archive limits keep unusually large items responsive.
Previews stay local. Trayzen does not upload the selected item or execute scripts from HTML previews.
File Shelf
A temporary place for files while you move between folders and apps.
- Shake a dragged item left and right to reveal the shelf nearest to the pointer.
- Drop references onto the shelf and drag them into their final destination later.
- Open or close the active shelf with Win + Shift + D.
- Choose the screen edge, item capacity, auto-hide behavior, and whether file details are shown.
The shelf keeps references, not copies. Adding an item does not move, modify, or upload it.

System Care
A clear, guarded workspace for PC health, cleanup, storage, apps, and trusted Windows repair tools.
- Review Windows and Defender health signals before opening the right system surface.
- Scan selected cleanup categories, large files, duplicates, startup items, drives, installed apps, and verified leftovers.
- Move reviewed duplicate copies and supported leftovers to the Recycle Bin instead of deleting blindly.
- Launch trusted repair, update, privacy, recovery, storage, and diagnostic tools from one toolbox.
Risky actions are previewed and confirmed. Trayzen does not silently disable services or remove files outside verified targets.
Theme automation
Move Windows and supported apps between light and dark mode at the right moment.
- Use fixed light and dark hours or local sunrise and sunset calculations.
- Switch Windows surfaces, supported apps, and optional light or dark wallpapers.
- Wait for fullscreen games, presentations, or video before changing the theme.
- Prefer dark mode on battery, pause the schedule, or switch immediately with a global shortcut.
Solar coordinates stay on your PC and are used only for the daylight calculation.
Mica Canvas
Clean, resizable Windows material surfaces for focus, ambience, or a calm secondary workspace.
- Choose Mica, Mica Alt, Acrylic, or a restrained calm gradient.
- Follow the Windows theme or keep canvases permanently light or dark.
- Set a subtle tint, starting size, always-on-top behavior, and compact drag label.
- Open one or two independent canvases and resize each like a normal window.
Capture & control
Keep the controls you reach for close to your work.
Screenshots & video
Capture the exact area you need, finish it locally, and control how the result is saved.
- Select an area with a magnifier, optional delay, and a Windows-accent or custom selection color.
- Annotate with pen, highlight, arrows, and redaction, or extract text with local Windows OCR.
- Save PNG or JPEG screenshots and restore recent captures in a lightweight gallery.
- Record selected regions with quality profiles, countdown, cursor control, microphone input, and GPU-aware H.264 encoding.
Recordings capture the selected region and optional microphone input. System-output audio is not recorded in the current release.
Media Controller
Playback, progress, source switching, and volume in a compact surface that follows your Windows media session.
- Use a taskbar dock or freely positioned desktop widget across supported displays.
- Switch between detected media sessions and choose a preferred player.
- Show playback controls, progress, volume, metadata, artwork-driven accents, and an audio visualizer.
- Hide during fullscreen apps or games and tune transient or always-visible behavior.
Audio & devices
Windows sound outputs, volume, and headphone state in one dedicated workspace.
- Switch the active Windows output and control volume or mute without opening Settings.
- See paired Bluetooth headphones and battery levels exposed by their driver.
- Show optional connection, output-change, and low-battery cards without stealing focus.
- Opt into play-on-connect, pause-on-disconnect, and preferred-output switching.
Call Dock
Compact Discord call status and audio controls placed close to the taskbar.
- Keep the dock visible while Discord is open or actively using the microphone.
- Choose screen, taskbar position, compact mode, and fullscreen behavior.
- Show microphone mute, speaker mute, and an optional compact input level meter.
- Keep Trayzen media and call surfaces out of supported screen sharing and capture flows with privacy mode.

Privacy & local data
Trayzen is designed around local Windows APIs and explicit actions. Its core workflows do not require a cloud account.
Quick Preview reads only the selected item. Quick Search indexes supported file names, not their contents. File Shelf stores references rather than copies. Screenshots, videos, annotations, and OCR output are processed locally.
